The year 2012 marks 40 years of positive diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and Japan. It is a significant milestone; a friendship that both countries are eager to maintain, and a bond both are keen to build upon. In 2012, Qatar and Japan come together to celebrate 40 years of friendship.
A year-long series of cultural, sporting and business-related activities will be held under the banner of Qatar-Japan 2012. The events will take place in both countries, beginning with “EGO,” the largest Takashi Murakami exhibition on 9 February, 2012, in Doha, Qatar. The events will showcase the unique aspects of each nation, as well as the shared interests of their citizens.
